City Lights

A late night midnight stroll.
Crystallized sand and my feet entwined,
with every aching step on this beach.
Memories flooding in my mind.
The roaring waves crashing embrace.
Staring up into a midnight sky
with a slight cold breeze against my face.
I can't help but think of you...
the times we shared; sunrises, sunsets.
Our love for each other grew
as colors painted the evening night.
Now lonely I stand here...
at this beautiful sight.
Trying to find away to erase
the City Lights reflecting picture
on the waters rippling surface
of lost lingering love unable to stand,
along with undying teardrops
falling with the grains of sand in my hand.
Take in a deep breath and watch it disappear.
Glance to find no one.
I wish he was here.
The thought repeats in my mind
as the cool water inches toward me,
climbing my body, freezing it blind.
I let my dreams of us together...
my memories, my past life,
wash away with the weather.
